RULES FOR ENTRANTS OF SCIENTIFIC EXHIBITS
1. Registered and student
technologists who are members of the South Dakota Society of
Radiologic Technologists are eligible for the Scientific
Exhibits Competition during the Annual State Meeting.
a.
Membership must be paid by
January 1 of the current year to be eligible
for competition.
b. Exhibitor must be registered at the Annual State Meeting.
c. All others will be disqualified.
2. All exhibits submitted
must:
a.
Be researched and prepared by the student or technologist and
not have been prepared by a professional exhibit company.
b. Be related to procedures done in applicant's
department or related to new procedures or interest to the
general membership.
c. Be original, in so far as they have never been
entered into any competition or displayed at a state or
national meeting.
d. Not contain any marks of identification such as
pictures, references to doctors or patients, film or x-ray
companies or hospitals that can in any way present clues as to
the origin of the exhibitor or the exhibitor's department or
training program.
e. Not occupy an area larger than 48" in length.
f. View boxes are no longer available.
Participant must supply his or her own means of illumination
if needed.
3. Applicants must submit an
exhibit reservation form to the Chairperson of Scientific
Awards before February 1 of the current year.
4. All
scientific exhibits must achieve at least 50 points on content
to be eligible for an award.
5. Scientific exhibits will be evaluated at the Annual State
Meeting by two independent judges with the following awards:
a.
Registered Technologist:
1st place

2nd place
$50
b. Student:
1st place
$75
2nd place
$50
